L.A.R.S.
The Limit-Adaptive Ranging System [L.A.R.S.] is an advanced sensing solution designed for industrial automation environments where precise control and tight spatial tolerances are critical. Engineered to operate reliably in systems involving closely spaced components, dynamic obstacles, and high-speed manipulators, L.A.R.S. provides continuous, high-resolution distance feedback with adaptive limit functionality.
L.A.R.S. is equipped with both a dedicated CAN bus connector and a separate Spark MAX / Spark Flex data port, giving system designers flexibility in how the sensor is integrated. This dual-interface approach allows L.A.R.S. to operate either as a networked CAN device or as a direct smart sensor at the motor controller.

Built on modern Time-of-Flight [ToF] ranging technology, L.A.R.S. dynamically adapts to changing conditions, enabling both real-time measurement and intelligent end-stop behavior without the need for mechanical switches. This makes it equally suited for demanding production lines, automated machinery, and high-energy robotics applications — including the fast-paced, high-impact environment of FIRST Robotics Competition matches.
